Four qualifying rounds took place from April to November 2019 in a home-and-away series format. In the fifth and final round of qualifiers, Zambia drew Cameroon 4-4 on aggregate and went through on the away-goals rule to win a direct ticket to Tokyo 2020, their first ever qualification to the Women's Olympic Football Tournament. Cameroon will contest a two-legged intercontinental play-off against Chile, who finished second in CONMEBOL’s qualifying tournament. The play-off has been postponed and will be rescheduled in due course.
Two teams are still in the race for Tokyo 2020 and will be hoping to join hosts Japan and Australia -特级做人爱c级日本 play-off victors over Vietnam - as Asia’s third and final representatives at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.
Korea Republic will take on China PR in a two-legged play-off on 4 and 9 June.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ served as qualification for the continent for Tokyo 2020. Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden booked their places for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 by being the top-three finishers from the continent at France 2019.
The final qualifying tournament was hosted in the USA from 28 January to 9 February. Canada and USA特级做人爱c级日本 advanced to the final, therefore both qualifying for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020. USA won the tournament for the fifth consecutive time.
The OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2018 was held in New Caledonia from 18 November to 1 December 2018. New Zealand特级做人爱c级日本 won the tournament and qualified for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020.
The Copa America 2018 was held in Chile from 4 to 22 April 2018. Brazil qualified for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020, while second-placed Chile will contest an intercontinental play-off against Cameroon, who lost to Zambia in the final round of Africa's qualifiers. This home-and-away two-legged play-off has been postponed and will be rescheduled in due course, with Cameroon hosting the first leg and Chile hosting the return leg.
